Itinerary

Days 1: International Outbound Flight

Day 2-3: Wilpattu National Park

Met our representative and your chauffeur driver to travel from Colombo to the national park, home to leopards and diverse wildlife. Adventure of a jeep safari through the thriving wilderness.

Day 4-6: Sigiriya

Arrive in Anuradhapura, the island's ancient capital and a present-day holy city.

Visit Sigiriya Rock and absorb the history from your guide whilst you admire the views at the top of the rock.

Enjoy a Jeep safari showing you the surrounding wildlife including elephants, sambar deer, monkeys and wildlife.

Head to Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka's second capital. The now ruined city has a mix of both Buddhist and Hindu influence and is a great place to learn more about the history of Sri Lanka.

Days 7-8: Kandy

Visit the Dambulla Caves on the way to Kandy, whilst in Kandy explore the beautiful botanical gardens and the famous and impressive Temple of the Tooth.

Days 9-10: Nuwara Eliya

You will be collected from your hotel and taken to the railway station. You will then board the train for the approximately four-hour journey to the tea country. The rail route rises slowly through the changing countryside. From Hatton, the scenery is spectacular, with waterfalls and many tea plantations. You will be collected by your driver from Nanu Oya and taken on a tea factory tour en route to your hotel.

An early morning start is recommended for your trip to Horton Plains as the views tend to be at their best in the morning. The 8 km circular route takes you past Little World's End and then World's End viewpoints before passing Baker's Fall, a 20 m high waterfall.Days 11-12: Yala National Park

Enjoy morning and afternoon jeep excursions in the park in search of leopards and other wildlife.

Day 13: Udawalawe National Park

Head for Udawalawe National Park this morning. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Udawalawe National Park

Day 14: Sinharaja Biosphere

Visit the elephant transit centre this morning, close to Udawalawe, before taking the drive over to the Sinharaja Biospheric Reserve.

Day 15-17: Galle

Travel down the coast to Galle. Galle is full of small cafés and shops, making for a wonderful place to stroll in the evening.

Be taken on a guided tour of Galle Fort. The ancient city of Fort Galle has a real colonial feel given the previous Portuguese, Dutch and British presence there. The sleepy streets are dotted with some interesting colonial buildings

Day 18: International return flight to UK.
